EdPuzzle


Make any video your lesson.  With Edpuzzle, you can customize video for your classroom. Shorten the video to only the part you want students to see. Replace the audio with your the narration.  Add audio notes to enhance the content.  Incorporate questions to check the students understanding.  Create classes and assign your videos.

 

 
  1. Create or login to your Edpuzzle account at http://edpuzzle.com.

  2. In Search, find a video or existing lesson to modify and add it to your content.

  3. In My Content, click on the video and choose Edit.

  4. If necessary, crop the video.

  5. Click on the microphone to record your own narration.

  6. Click on the speaker to record audio notes.

    1. Position the playhead.

    2. Click the microphone to record your note.

  7. Click the question mark, to add questions (multiple choice or open ended) and text notes

    1. Position the playhead.

    2. Click the question mark.

    3. Choose the type of question or comment and add your information.

    4. Click Save.

  8. Click Done.  

  9. Title and tag your edpuzzle.

  10. Click Share and copy, paste the link into another browser window to preview your Edpuzzle.

  11. Optional: Create a class, add your students and assign edpuzzle videos to them.  
 
Note: Shared Edpuzzles work like self-checks. Students get feedback, but you cannot see how they did. Edpuzzles assigned to students in an Edpuzzle class generate reports for the students. You can also assign students to create an Edpuzzle project.

  1. Download the Green Screen by DoInk app to your iPad (https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/green-screen-by-do-ink/id730091131?mt=8)

  2. Open Green Screen and watch the tutorial project

  3. Plan your video

    1. Brainstorm an idea for your video

    2. Outline or script what you plan to say

    3. Collect resources on your iPad (photos or video that will be used in your video)

  4. Set up your green screen cloth or plain backdrop

  5. Set up your tripod and attach the iPad using the iPad tripod mount

  6. Open the Green Screen App

  7. Click the + to start a new project

  8. Click the i button to name your project

  9. Add your background image or video to the bottom layer

  10. Add the camera to the middle layer and adjust the Chroma filter to match your backdrop so that your background appears.

  11. (optional) Add an additional resource to your top layer

  12. Push the record button to record your video

  13. Preview your video

  14. Save it to the camera roll.

  15. Discard the video to return to the editor screen.

 

iMotion HD


The iMotion HD app easily lets you make time-lapse and stop-motion videos. With Time-lapse, you can accelerate movement. Students can watch a thunderstorm roll in, experience the life-cycle of a plant, share the field trip.  With stop-motion, you can manipulate objects frame-by-frame to make it look like they are moving.  Students can tap into their creativity to demonstrate an idea or tell a story.

  • for projects that require the camera to be stationary, you will need something to hold the device (e.g., case or tripod mount).

Stop-Motion

Directions

  1. Set up your device. For most projects, you will want your device to be as still as possible.

  2. Set up the initial position of your objects.

  3. Open the iMotion HD app, and click new movie.

  4. Title the movie, choose manual and click start.

  5. Press capture to take a photo.

  6. Move 1 or more objects.

  7. Press capture to take a photo.

  8. Repeat step 6 & 7 to create your animated scene.

  9. Click Stop twice.

  10. Export your movie.


Time-Lapse walk-through

Directions

  1. Open the iMotion HD app, click new movie and title your movie.

  2. Title the movie, choose time-lapse, pick an interval(try 1 second) and click start.

  3. Find your starting point for the walk through and click start.

  4. Walk around pointing the device’s camera at the subjects you want to focus on.

  5. Click Stop twice.

  6. Export your movie.

 
 

Screencast-o-matic


This free tool allows you to capture whatever you have on your monitor as you talk about it. The free version gives you one screencast that can be as long as 15 minutes. A transcript of your narration for accommodations for hearing impairment.

  2. Sign up for a free Screencast-o-matic account and sign in.

  3. On your computer open the website, Word file, PowerPoint file, whatever you want to talk about.

  4. Adjust the size of what you want to record on the screen. It check your microphone volume. Start recording!

  5. When you’re done you can link to the file on screencast-o-matic, download the file in MP4 format or transfer it to YouTube.

Tellagami is a fun and simple to use mobile app that lets your create and share quick animated video with customizable avatars. The video called a “Gami”. You can customize the the avatar, add backgrounds, and make your avatar peak.The $4.99 EDU version has additional features like text-to-speech, 3x longer videos, and export video to your camera roll.
